Die Esswaren in deinem Kühlschrank häufen sich an, wandern in den Hintergrund und schliesslich in den Abfall. Schade, bestimmt hätte jemand deine Einkäufe verwerten können. Genau hier helfen dir die öffentlichen Kühlschränke von Madame Frigo. Die mittlerweile über 160 Kühlschränke entstehen jeweils aus der Initiative von Interessierten heraus und werden von Freiwilligen betreut. Das Konzept ist simpel: Bring, was du selber nicht mehr brauchst und hol dir, was zuhause gerade noch gefehlt hat. Dank der Unterstützung von rund 600 Helfer*innen können jedes Jahr mehr als 300 Tonnen Lebensmittel vor der voreiligen Entsorgung gerettet werden.

🇬🇧 You’re probably familiar with the situation: your fridge is well stocked – then you spontaneously eat at a friend’s house, order a pizza or are about to go on holiday.

The food in your fridge piles up, wanders to the back and finally lands in the bin. That’s a shame: someone certainly could have made good use of your groceries. This is exactly where Madame Frigo’s public fridges come in! The fridges, which now number over 160, result out of initiatives by interested parties and are looked after by volunteers. The concept is simple: bring what you no longer need yourself and get what was just missing at home. Thanks to the help of nearly 600 volunteers, our fridges save more than 300 tonnes of food from premature disposal every year!
